If you were in the top 3 in your age group and did not get your award, please email me your mailing address (garges329@yahoo.com) and we'll get it out to you.

Carly and I want to thank you again. We'll take what we learned this year and make next year's race even better!

Sunday Post Race Update

Thank you to everyone that come out today and supported the race. And thank you to mother nature for providing the sun which made the course decent. There were 400 finishers who braved the morning cold to tackle the course.

I hope you all enjoyed the post race pizza and drinks by the warm fire. I have to apologize for the delay with the results, one of the timing machines malfunctioned and needed a battery replacement. The results will be posted this afternoon (around game time) at www.photosbyjohn.net and tomorrow at www.lvrr.org. Some people did stay and get their award, if you didn't get your award and you finished top 3 in your age group, please email me at garges329@yahoo.com with your mailing address and I'll send them out to you.

Saturday PM Update

Looks like we got a race tomorrow! We were lucky enough to be on the low side of snowfall totals and we actually got some sun today. When I drove the course after lunch, it wasn't totally clear but it was better than expected. It is supposed to be cold overnight so there will be some slick frozen spots. Please be cautious tomorrow, there will be slick spots out there.

Registration will open at about 9:00. We are planning to have an outdoor fire going to hang out around and talk about how your race went! The bathroom in the clubhouse will be off limits to race participants, it just cannot support that kind of use. There are 10 porta johns in the gravel parking lot, please use them.

Early parking will begin in the lot up by the police shooting range, then work it's way down to the parkway roadside. Keep an eye out for the volunteers, they'll help everyone find a spot.

We will keep the finish line active until about noon, but hopefully have awards before then. As mentioned before, if you want to grab your pizza and drink and leave, we will mail your award.

And don't forget, there's some big football game tomorrow evening!!

See you in the morning......

Saturday AM Update

As of now (10am) it appears that the snow has finished! I did receive a call from the Finish Line and they will be closing at 12:00 today. I am aware that the shirt supply at the Finish Line was running low and I apologize. We were unsure of how many people would utilize the early packet pickup option and didn't want to take up too much room at the store with 8 boxes of shirts! That being said, if you were not able to get the shirt size that was marked on your bib, please bring your shirt and bib to registration tomorrow and we'll exchange it. We will offer race day packet pickup tomorrow morning starting at approximately 9:00.

Our biggest concern right now is the condition of the roadway (race course) tomorrow. Anyone who has run this race in the past may remember the roads being snow covered in places over the years. Thinking back over the +/-6 year history of the race it is amazing that this is the first big storm that has taken aim on the race! Thank you for your patience and support as we look forward to racing tomorrow. I plan to drive the course later today to check the condition of the roadway. Please look for a post this evening for an update.

February 5, 2010 update

The race is still scheduled as planned, 10:30 on Sunday morning. Looks like we'll have a brisk sunny day for the race, as to be expected for early February. Registration will be in the clubhouse. Those of you that have been there before know that this building is not large enough to fit all of the participants, so we do ask that after you register you are courteous and leave room for the runners waiting behind you to enter the building. The upstairs and bathrooms will be roped off and shall not be used by race participants. There will be 10 porta potties in the gravel parking lot.

After the race there will be tables set up next to the clubhouse for pizza and drinks. We will hold the award ceremony in the clubhouse but please do not feel obligated to stay, we will mail any unclaimed awards to the address that was used for your registration.

There will be at least one more update tomorrow, so be sure to check back! Thank you for supporting the race and see you on Sunday.

February 4, 2010 Update

Well, the forecast seems to be going in our favor, less snow and the storm finishing earlier on Saturday. As of now the race is on for the scheduled 10:30 start. The only snag is that we are unable to provide a tent. There is not a tent vendor around that will put up a tent before the storm and none of them will come out Sunday morning. So, plan ahead, grab your number ahead of time at the Finish Line in Emmaus and come dressed to race. Be sure to bring warm clothes for the post race pizza and beverages. Parking will be tight without the lot in the field so we will be parking you along the parkway. Please be courteous to the volunteers that are parking you and remember they're out in the cold and you're in a warm car!

February 3, 2010 Update

The 2010 Superbowl 10K is fast approaching. Mother nature looks like it maybe throwing it's best "defense" at us. We've created this blog to keep you all up to date on the current news regarding the race. Thank you for visiting.

The weather forecast is not looking good at this point, so it's likely we will be running the "alternate" course which has been added to this blog. If the snow does hit us hard there may be a few modifications on race day (other than the course). There is still a lot of questions regarding the track of the storm so we'll keep our fingers crossed!

The race is still offering some great amenities such as long sleeve technical Brooks Running shirts, pizza, soda, water and Gatorade. Weather permitting, we'll be able to hang out for the post race festivities in a large tent. We have great awards for the top 100 finishers as well as age group awards for 5 year male and female age groups.

Don't forget, there will be early packet pickup at the Finish Line in Emmaus during regular business hours on Friday and Saturday.
